This book is a personal- and research-based exploration of time zones—the sometimes minor differences of a couple hours that can serve to divide us. The first half of this book investigates how time zones became a global convention and our eventual manipulation of this organic idea. The second half focuses on the personal and includes re-centering time zones. A photo-based journey documents every waking hour of my day in the east coast time zone and compares it with a friend six hours ahead in Switzerland and another friend three hours behind me in Los Angeles.
